A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Written: Charles Dickens

For my MA Dissertation, I wanted to look into what makes immersive experiences successful, what is increasingly attracting us to them, and how I can apply my observations to the theoretical design of A Christmas Carol.

I wanted to keep the look of the buldings as era-appropriate as possible. I also want the experience to rely on exploration of the spaces, so there are a lot of one-way doors and hidden entrances peppered throughout. The main challenge was working with spaces that are returned to multiple times, but I solved it by creating double versions of those most frequented rooms (Scrooge’s bedroom and the Cratchit’s home). This allows the story to flow as the book details it.
